Kirill Tarasenko is a partner at Gavrilov & Brooks, with nearly a decade of experience litigating and trying personal injury cases, including serving as lead counsel in several notable trials and obtaining multiple verdicts in excess of insurance policy limits. His practice is focused on civil litigation, business litigation, personal injury, and insurance bad faith. He has been recognized as a Top Lawyer by Sacramento Magazine and by legal peers as Super Lawyer Rising Star several years running. In addition, he was one of five nominees for 2015 Advocate of the Year by the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association.
Kirill Tarasenko grew up in the Bay Area and Sacramento and was a highly ranked chess player, winning many tournaments throughout Northern California. A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, he holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Global Studies and International Relations, as well as Slavic Languages and Literature. With an interest in international law and government relations, Kirill Tarasenko also studied at the International University in Moscow and in Australia.
He then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where he was a lead debater on the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Team that traveled to Vienna, Austria to debate against law programs from all over the world.
Kirill was honored to work in Congress for the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nuclear Nonproliferation, and Trade in Washington, D.C. After his time on Capitol Hill, he worked in California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Legal Affairs Office and at the Public Defenders Office before entering the civil litigation field.
