Ms. Nugent has diverse expertise in practicing various types of law. She began her career working as a Federal District Court Law Clerk for the Hon. Milton Schwartz. During her time there, she increased her proficiency in legal research, analysis and writing. After leaving the Court, Ms. Nugent worked for a San Francisco based firm with over 150 attorneys. There, she worked in the transportation and logistics industry, negotiating contracts for clients and handling litigation matters. She also assisted with business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and sales. She drafted employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, nondisclosure agreements, procurement agreements and consulting services agreements. Ms. Nugent is experienced in resolution of workplace and commercial disputes, and is an effective counselor and strategist.
After leaving the firm, Ms. Nugent turned her focus to labor and employment matters, with an emphasis on workplace investigations regarding claims of discrimination, harassment, bullying, sexual harassment and sexual violence. She interviewed complainants, respondents, witnesses, and prepared detailed written reports with factual findings and policy conclusions.
